Weaving emerged as a medium when I sought a more physical way to express the linear characteristics of my art. Traditional Maori weaving known as ‘Ranganga’ is something I’ve always admired and was drawn to when considering new directions for my art. Incorporating light reactive materials into my illuminated works unleashed a world of creative innovations helping me to push this medium into entirely new territories.
